What is happening?

Vendavo is acquiring Market Medium, a provider of cloud-based rebate, incentive, and channel management solutions for the manufacturing, high tech, consumer goods and life sciences industries. The acquisition reinforces Vendavo’s commitment to serving manufacturing and distribution organizations like you, on your path toward optimizing revenue growth and profitability. 

Market Medium will add robust Channel Incentive Management capabilities to Vendavo’s market-leading Price Optimization and CPQ solutions, empowering our customers to maximize their revenue and profitability through intelligent supplier programs, pricing, sales intelligence, sales quoting & agreements, and channel revenue management. 

When is it happening?

The acquisition was announced on July 19, 2022. 

Why is it happening?

B2B enterprise leaders are under increasing pressure to drive profitable growth amidst an array of challenges like supply chain issues, inflation, shifting customer expectations, and broad economic uncertainties. More than ever, B2B enterprises need both commercial insights and controls across their sales channels, regions, and markets. 

The combination of Vendavo and Market Medium provides our customers like you with enhanced commercial excellence capabilities. The addition of full, end-to-end rebate & channel management capabilities fills an important gap in Vendavo’s current commercial excellence and commercial negotiation offerings.

Historically, Vendavo has had a solution for analyzing our clients’ businesses across the full price waterfall, but we’ve relied on other systems to do the accruals and allocations. The addition of Market Medium provides a solution, in-house, that integrates with our solution and provides hyper-accurate reporting on the true profitability on the price waterfall.

This acquisition provides new solutions to common and complex problems that customers like you have been asking for. This acquisition will make it easier for your company to create and track accruals, handle payments and distributions to channel partners, and manage rebates. By combining with Market Medium, we’re able to bring a fantastic channel and incentive management solution to our customers, to complement our existing pricing, selling, and revenue optimization solutions. 

Who is Market Medium?

Market Medium was founded in 2015 and has deep roots in the rebate planning and management process. Market Medium has built a platform that allows all the channel actors to participate in multiple roles from the creation of the pricing agreements to the individual discounts/rebates offered, to the accounting, and through reporting. How This Acquisition Impacts You

What benefits will this acquisition bring to me and my organization?

This is an enhanced set of capabilities (end-to-end rebate & channel management) that are highly complementary to Vendavo’s existing solutions. Vendavo can now offer a simpler way to manage the complexities of rebates and channel incentive programs – enabling full price-waterfall planning, execution, and measurement. We are your one-stop shop to digitize and optimize the entire commercial process. 

Our manufacturing customers will be able to manage distributor and consumer rebate programs, build and scale sophisticated incentives, and nurture partner engagement all while boosting sales, and preserving margins.   

Our distribution customers will be empowered to efficiently track supplier and vendor rebate programs, meet margin guidelines on sales, and pass-through promotions to customers without revenue leakage.

Will the support I receive change?

No, there will be no change to how your organization receives support from Vendavo. 

Will my contract change?

No, there will not be an impact to current contracts. 

What do product integration plans look like, short-term and long-term?

We will begin right away with integrating Market Medium’s rebate & channel management software to Vendavo modules, including integration of Market Medium to our new Vendavo common data model.  In addition to data model integration, we expect to integrate CPQ and Deal Manager/Deal Guide with Market Medium for sales-initiated flows like Ship & Debit quotes or customer rebate agreements. We also expect to have up-to-date rebate program accruals data available to inform price waterfalls in CPQ and Deal Manager/Deal Guide, and waterfall data in Profit Analyzer. 

Market Medium’s user interface will be aligned with Vendavo’s other products (colors, branding, look and feel) very soon. Deeper UX harmonization around things like iconography and terms will be a medium-term effort.
